Theres a few answers to that. So here are a few phases I want to use for this seasons trend forecast...
Dont be afraid to be bold: Show some color. Draw some attention to items we usually don't such as jackets, purses, dresses. Shoes especially!! They can make a generally neutral outfit .. POP! and add punch.
In the Trenches: The Best Outerwear for Spring's ( not my dog) unpredictable weather. Some days it rains... others are just immaculate. No matter the situation, you can be prepared. Depending on the fashionista you are.. will depend on what kinda coat you'll buy. No matter what.. you'll still look hot.
Jump in the Flowers!! : Floral prints are great to add some life and movement to your outfit. Depending upon the look you are going for, Large or small floral prints can accentuate any body type and a wide range of tastes. BE YOUR OWN GARDEN!!!!!!!
Heavy Metal!! NEWS FLASH!!!!! METALLIC IS THE NEW BLACK. Another way you can add life to an outfit is to again bring this into any outfit and create a subtle but fierce approach.Also layering metal jewelry... is still HOT! My Rule: The More Layers...The Better. Just PUH-LEASE dont look like Mr. T .. and its ALL GOOD!
High Standards : Empire Waisted Apparel is very chic and interesting addition to anyones wardrobe. Either a dress.. or my personal favorite.. a Skirt.. to show femininity. Also coming back into style is High Waisted Jeans. Kelis has been spotted rocking this style... and its FABULOUS! The jeans shown here are Miss Sixty.
All these rules are interchangeable and dependent upon a persons personal style... but don't be afraid to liven it up.

I am sooooooooooo in love with the high-waist pants! Very Katharine Hepburn, very helpful to people like me (long legs, short torso. Yeah...I'm kinda like a spider), always timeless and elegant. Then there's the most important reason to wear them: e'one else at the party will be wearing low-rise pants, and you'll be remembered as the girl doin' her own thing!
