ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF!

I think that it would be appropriate to introduce myself, especially because it's my first post. First off, My name is Leslie Nicole and I am from the greatest city in the world: NEW YORK CITY!!!! I'm 19 years old and a college student. My major is currently Journalism and I have aspirations to be a fashion director and ultimately have my own magazine one day. Even as a freshman in college, I have to work on the dynamics so i can make my dreams a reality. Since, i can't work for a magazine just yet.. I decided to make a blog where I can openly express my fashion thoughts. I would also like to thank my dearest friend "Elle" for helping me come up with the name. See, I thought coming up with a name would be simple work.. but it isn't. I'm here to tell you now... its like naming a child. Naming your blog something ghetto and tacky.. No one would take it seriously. Soo i had to name it something that explained who i was and wanted to be. Sooo simply it became..." Diva": The Makings of a Fashion Editor. The name "Diva" came from two places. It initially began as a pet name from my former girl group members who though I became a different person when I performed ( I know that story sounds familiar, but its totally true) . Also I was called "Diva " affectionately in high school just because of my sense of fashion and also because I was involved with the entertainment world, heavily. Just singing,songwriting and modeling.

Another question I have been asked is "Why a fashion editor?" .... Umm well its obvious... I LOVE clothes and Fashion Week and all the aspects of putting clothes together. I've always loved that and I didn't know it was an actual career until I met Atoosa Rubenstein. She was one of the many successful women who came to my high school and spoke about why she chose the fashion world.. and its sounded alot like myself. People around me thought I should be a Broadcast Journalism major because they could see me on television. But the more and more I thought about it, I could see myself working at a magazine.

Sooo, my first task is to acquire a fashion internship. Fortunately, I have 2 interviews in the next two weeks. One at a Beauty PR firm and another at a womens fashion company. In this BLOG, will talk about fashion as well as things in my personal life which will more than likely relate.

What I would love for y'all to do is tell me what you want to hear about or what you want more information about.. AND I WILL DO MY VERY BEST TO OBLIGE!

I'm logging off now to finish doing some more research about Fashion Week... to get the best information and pictures possible. Also I will post up any thing I do with my modeling as well.
