The Simmons Sisters and Copyright Infringement?
This was totally a surprised when I read about this... According to http://consumerist.com,
"Pastry keeps putting out t-shirt designs that are uncomfortably similar to the tees that Johnny Cupcakes puts out first. Last Spring, he had his lawyer contact them about trademark infringement, but he says that hasn't stopped them from using his line as a free design resource."
I really do like the Simmons Sisters and what they do. Hopefully, they do not lose their business or creditability due to the impending lawsuit. Good Luck to them!!!!
But judge for yourself
Return of the DIVA........ The Re-introduction
A little over a year and so many things have changed in my life. Whether it was positive or negative. No matter what went on my life, I almost always thought about the blog and how much people appreciated and how much I loved to do it. When I first started "Diva", I was a second semester freshman and now I'm ending my junior year and ready to embark on my journey as an editor.
Things about me have not changed! I still love fashion like no other and treat it as a work of art! However, I believe my taste for fashion has matured as well as developed. Also, I have learned to appreciate diverse senses of style ( Dallas Style takes time to get used to..LOL).
What I hope to accomplish with this blog is not to dictate to others on what I feel is fashion but to highlight my journey to the ultimate fashionista. After all of the chick lit books about fashion as well as the movies devoted to fashion lovers... has made this field difficult to get into. Also, its very rare to see women of color involved.
During the long span of time that I didn't blog, I came across some fashion and beauty blogs written by women of color that were inspiring and creative, that made me wanna jump back into the game. Also, blogs that were already major... started to expand. Blogging has officially become a legitimate medium that will even allow some to venture into the tents.
For those who are just reading my blog, My name is Leslie Nicole and I am from the greatest city in the world: NEW YORK CITY!!!! However I have been a resident of Texas for a few years. I'm 21 years old college student. My major is currently Journalism and I have aspirations to be a fashion director and ultimately have my own magazine one day. I started this blog to work on the dynamics to make my dreams a reality. Since, i don't work for a magazine just yet.. I decided to make a blog where I can express my fashion thoughts
.
I love and appreciate all of the feedback I get from everyone...
Thanks for taking the time out to read my re introduction.... THIS TIME I'M HERE TO STAY
With the love of fashion,
Leslie Nicole

Slackin' On My Fashion
Lately I realized, I've been really slacking and blogging like I used to. New York just threw me WAY off kilter. So, I'm back in Texas for another semester, which isn't so horrible. I just had to get accustomed to the style of living down here and not compare life in Texas to life in New York City.
Yesterday, during one of my long deep thinking moments (AKA during Human Development Class). I thought seriously about what I wanted to do with my life and how I wanted to get there. Sometimes,I just really want to kick myself for picking such a competitive career choice. However, it's my calling. I eat, sleep and breathe fashion and journalism. I really thank Atoosa Rubenstein for introducing the world of magazine writing.
Now, this week is like Christmas for Fashionistas!! It's the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.. YAY!. Once again, I'm across the country for the festivities so I must enjoy them via Internet. For the 1st day, L.A.M.B was the stand out show for me for day one.
L.A.M.B
I honestly love this line....despite the haters i really enjoyed the clothes.... I just wished she would have used more color. But, I likely ALOT!!!!!!
Also, I found an article focusing on why it is difficult for ethnic models, like myself , to find work... Surprising my agent commented in this post.. “Diversity is in a state of decline in this area,” says Bethann Hardison, a former model and owner of Bethann Management Inc., once credited by New York magazine with “changing the face of fashion” for her activism to get more equal employment opportunities for models of color. Here's the full article. The Great White Way
I definitely think this is a great article...... Take a look if you get a chance.
Well , I must get ready for work.
Thanks for countinue to read... I won't let you down again.
LOVE YA LOTS

I'm Bizzack!!
I miss you guys OH SO much!!!!! I've been back in the wonderful city of New York for almost two months and I have not updated anyone on my life. The reason I did not blog was due to my laptop beng fix and Fed-Ex screw-ups.... and the computer at the house was to slow to let me blog... ( WOE IS ME,lol) But.. I have no excuse now. I will be updating on the regular.
Okay, So when I first came to New York I had two internships. and to make a long story short... it didn't work out with either of them... but I know the right one will eventually come along.
Also I started working at a store in Soho called Runway... Imagine the Devil Wears Prada but a retail store. I have never in my 20 years met so many phony people. OH WELL.... I had to quit because some profane language was used towards me.
Don't get me wrong, My summer so far was not a complete bust. I was albe to get one of my favorite books autographed by my most favorite author, Tia Williams. She actually the one who inspired me to be interested in the magazine industry.
This summer, my fashion mantra has been.. the simpler the better. It's just been so hot and humid that all I want to wear is a shirt dress, flats and sunglasses.
Anyways, I just wanted to let know I am back in business and thank you for all of the encouraging emails I got from everyone... I HONESTLY APPRECIATE IT!
Much Love n Fashion.... Be back later with more fashion news for all my divas....

MY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Everyone!!!
I must say that I have honestly been so busy with just trying to get ready to make my big move back to New York City and start my awesome internships. I appreciate everyone reading and everyone who emailed me when I was coming back and I shall NOT let anyone down!!!
So now begins the countdown... 5 more days to go!
Since I've been doing loads of shopping online and offline for cars, clothes and generally just getting ready to take my driving test, I've had ample time to peep a few things.
1. Mix-Matched Swimwear is so cute and a great way to reinvent swimwear.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find a good picture to show what it looks like, however you may go to the site and shop for each separately. In my honest opinion, when looking to mix match.. try solid colors. These are the best sites to visit if that is what you are looking for.

2. Labels for alot less are COOL
I know many know this ... but the high end designers who are making affordable clothing is a trend that is taking off.
Phillip Lam is collaborating with Uniqlo and Patrick Robinson's Line at Target aka Tarjey. I finally got my dress from Patrick Robinson.. and guess what.. I'm LOVIN' IT
Also Kudos to Patrick Robinson who was just named Executive VP of Gap Design!
3. Buy your handbags online for exclusive picks
If you do not like to look like anyone else and you want a bag that is unique, We are alot like.. and look no futher.

Wanna be Bitten????
Recently, I've been addicted to Sex and the City and I am love with Sarah Jessica Parker bka Carrie Bradshaw .So when coming across Sarah Jessica Parker's new clothing line, I had to look. About 3 years ago when she did that Gap ad, I bought a trench coat.. just cause she looked HOT .
So now she has a line which will be featured in Steve and Barry's.... and most of her items will be less than 20 bucks. Now, I hear that her reviews were less than stellar but from what I have seen, I am pretty impressed ( and that takes alot). Personally, I have been looking for cheap and chic outfits to wear to my internships and I think that Bitten will possibly assist me.
Now, there are some of the combo's that I am not really crazy about but I think that some of these clothes have potential especially the shirts.
Sarah Jessica Parker went on Oprah yesterday and showed off her line there as well.
This line is expected to kick off on June 7th and have over 400 items for everyone to choose from. I think I may stop buy Steve and Barry's and see what they can offer me. http://www.bittensjp.com/, to visit the site that has some pictures of the collection as well as SJP's manifesto.
Also, Thank you to the ladies who allowed me to pick there brains and I am still looking for more young ladies to ask from the ages 18-24 from any city...........
Well One Love.. All Fashion,

Funky Fresh Dressed...........
I'm so happy that I was given the day off from everything. Because of that, I'm allowed to do one of my favorite things ....BLOG!! YAY!
Recently, I have been wanting to try the ultimate 80's trend... Colored Denim. Yet, because of Irving , Texas' lack of original style. I haven't seen anyone rock this style quite yet.
Awesomely enough, they come in all price ranges for all to enjoy the trend. Now I know this won't last more than a year so I do not think it is necessary to spend a massive amount of money on the jeans of your choice... but hey... whatever floats your boat!!!
Here are a few of my choices in all price ranges.......
This pair can be found at Urban Outfitters. They have awesome colors and also have a reasonable price. It's affordable enough to purchase more than one pair of jeans. These are definitely my favorite!!!
These jeans cost about the amount of my normal pair of jeans and i like these alot because of the zipper on the side. Very dope! Yet because of the price, I would probably purchase the grey pair.
These jeans are also very cute but I don't they will be seeing my booty anytime soon. The red pair have such a great rich color! If money was no object, I would buy all these jeans but these do not stand out to me to spend close to 200 dollars on them.
Hopefully within the next two weeks, I will try to go to the Urban Outfitters in Dallas and pick up a few pairs of the colored denim.
Well I hope you got your fashion fix for today and I expect to be back tomorrow.
Love is Fashion and Fashion is Love,
Leslie Nicole
P.S: I need to interview and pick the brains of girls who are from 18-24 from any city! It's for my first assignment for my internship. Please email me if you'd like to help me out. EMAIL ME
